6 Wrap Up

The tasks in this unit will help prepare you to do the following:

  1. These will be updated soon.

The case studies, which appears at the end of this unit, give you an opportunity to demonstrate mastery of the objectives above.

6.1 Task: Begin Case Study 9

Individual Prep

  1. Complete the Being Reading section of Case Study 9. This will require that you read an article(s), and come to class with two or three things to share.

  2. Begin working on the case study. Remember that you can save your self a lot of time by following the steps to Polya’ problem solving strategy.

    • Understand the problem. Do you have a clear goal of what you want to accomplish? Will your goal meet the requirements for the case study?
    • Devise a plan. Have you made hand sketches of the visualizations and tables you’ll need? Do you have a rough outline of what kind of wrangling you’ll need to do?
    • Carry out the plan.
    • Look back. Did you hit all the required elements? If you missed something, is there a way you can add it in?

6.2 Task: Finish and Present Case Study 9

Before the last day of class, finish Case Study 9 and submit it in I-Learn. You’ll have an opportunity to present your work during the last day of class.
